Ulteo attented the Open World Forum (OWF) taking place last week in Paris, gathering more than 1500 persons from about 30 countries, interested by the open source eco system and ways to make it grow.
Part of this exciting event was the Open Innovation Awards, an international competition of open source start-ups. Ulteo was fortunate enough to be selected as one of the 20 nominees. This pre-selection allowed us to pitch a panel of 15 international open source experts (Venture Capitalists, open source projects CEO like Mark Shuttleworth, public organizations, integrators, bloggers, etc.) And on Friday Oct. 2nd at the end of the OWF, the jury announced the 5 winners, including Ulteo.
This comes at a great time for us as we are building momentum in the market, our community gets more and more excited and that we are going to release a new version of the product resulting of long hours of hard work. We are proud and honoured to be one of the winners considering not only the quality of the jury but also the list and presentation of the other nominees. We expect some of them to become future partners.
The award is a unique copy of a pinguin made in steel and cupper and it looks terrific.
We thank again the jury, the organizers of the event that promote open source solutions and we congratulate the other winners and nominees.
